This practice has changed my life. I was a stay at home mom and had been in the corporate world in both: Landscape Architecture and Resort Real Estate. I felt I was losing myself in my role as wife and mother and was therefore not being the wife and mother I knew I could be. I made a New Year’s Resolution to be able to do the splits, a pull-up, and a handstand. I had tried another kind of hot yoga in college and thought I would use hot yoga to attain my new goals. I signed up for class and life as I knew it changed. I started attending Tiina Garrison’s Baptiste Inspired Hot Power Vinyasa classes 3 times a week, signed up for Level One with Baron Baptiste and 8 months from my first yoga practice I was teaching. This practice has opened my life up to service and empowerment for others. I have built strength in my physical body I never knew possible. I encourage you to simply be a YES and roll out your mat.
Deborah Forbes is a Baptiste-inspired yoga instructor. She has studied with Baron Baptiste at Level One and Two week-long immersions and Paige Elenson at Art of Assisting. Deborah has a background in psychology and is a licensed massage therapist and energy worker. There is a unique depth to her teaching that is unlike any other. In addition to her passion and dedication of teaching and sharing the practice of yoga Deborah is also an artist focusing these days on large canvas portraits. Deborah will be teaching Baptiste Inspired Hot Power Vinyasa, and a Chakra Clearing Restorative classes. When Deborah is not teaching she can be found on the mat practicing, in her studio painting or frolicking around town with her two granddaughters Penelope and Poppy.
Lexie grew up in Lafayette, LA. She moved to Baton Rouge and graduated from Southern Law School. After having two boys, Lexie began hot power yoga to get into a workout routine. She then discovered Baptiste Hot Power Yoga and after practicing for only a few short weeks, she noticed differences not only in her body, but also in her emotional well-being. Wanting to deepen her own practice and knowledge of the asanas, she enrolled in the 200-hour Expand Your Power program with Master Baptiste teacher, Leach Cullis. She has completed the Art of Assisting and loves helping students deepen their practice through hands-on assists. She appreciates the opportunity to be of service to her students by delivering a powerful practice and creating connection through breath and acceptance. She loves helping her students get out of their comfort zones and find their edge, as well as some fun, in every pose.
Kiri is a 200-hour RYT through the Baptiste Institute. Kiri began her journey with yoga at Oui Power Yoga and immediately felt connection and community that she knew she had to share with others. Her teachers, Dee Dee Lantzy, Alyson Giuffreda and Deborah Forbes inspired her to sign up for her first teacher training. Kiri completed her teacher training under Master Baptiste teacher, Leah Cullis. Yoga has helped Kiri to be more gentle with herself and with others, has allowed her to become mindful of her body and what it is capable of, and has surrounded her with a supportive community and group of friends. Kiri is committed to creating connections through sharing her yoga practice and invites you to roll out your mat and become a part of the magic.

Shari Blem has been into health and wellness all her life, starting with the love of sports at a young age. She has a passion for running and tennis, and has been practicing yoga for over a decade.
Shari fell so much in love with yoga and feels "as an adult, yoga has brought a healing balance and calm to her life unlike any other sports or exercise”.
She completed her 200 hour Teacher Training in 2013 at the Lafayette Center For Yoga and is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance.
Shari then furthered her yoga training, specializing in Children’s Yoga with children’s yoga expert Shana Meyerson’s and completed her "mini yogis" program.
Shari continues her studies in workshops and seminars in child’s and adult yoga to this day. She teaches to kids and teens at local schools and to adults at homeless shelters.
She practices and teaches Yin and Vinyasa Yoga but believes that any yoga is good yoga and that yoga is a “gift to your body”.
As far back as he can remember Mickal has been active in sports like baseball, football, golf, and tennis and other outdoor activities like hunting and fishing. Yet it wasn't until he began the practice of yoga that he realized what was missing. Mickal has said before, “I wish I would have found power yoga sooner, I would have been stronger, leaner, and faster back in the day.” Now he incorporates his yoga practice into much of what he does and has found great joy in living a yoga inspired life. He is a 200 hour certified yoga instructor, trained through the Baptiste Yoga Institute. As a teacher and student Mickal looks to inspire others to explore what is possible through a mindful yoga practice.
